“Beautiful beachfront location with turtles in ocean directly in front of property. A 400 meter walk along the beach to turtle Beach where you can feed large turtles in the shallows. Our room was clean spacious and although it’s somewhat shows its age, it was very well appointed and comfortable. Private balcony with wonderful views of ocean. all facilities you could need within a short walking distance. The staff at the accommodation were excellent. Staff provided a wonderful breakfast. Kitchen staff available all day to prepare any additional meals you may want.”

“Beautiful, calm and spacious villas directly at the beach, very friendly staff, good food and the best place within miles to get in the water and still be standing on sand, not rocks or corals. The villa was amazing and had everything we needed - I especially lovef the hot and cold water dispenser to make instantly tea or coffee while relaxing on the sofa. The place is perfect for relaxing!”

“Isle of Thalpe is a unique and beautiful hotel with one step to the beach! Totally perfect service and kind people! We’re so grateful to Rasanga, Saman, Tharushka and Rahia for being helpful and friendly! Also there was a dog Ricky that I called Kiri, we gonna miss him! We enjoyed our time on Delawela beach even it was the end of season and ocean was stormy! It was beautiful and I enjoyed swimming in waves! Breakfast was great with Sri Lanka's omlet and fruits! Also we loved that we had the whole water cooler inside our kitchen. It was a great start of our journey on Sri Lanka! I gonna miss this place!”

“We had the absolute pleasure of staying for six weeks in the 2-bedroom unit at this hidden gem on Dalawella Beach, and it exceeded every expectation. Tucked away on a quiet stretch of coastline, the hotel is run by the kindest and most accommodating local hosts. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and smiles. The setting is magical—directly on the beach of the beautiful Indian Ocean, with the crashing sound of waves always in the background. Whenever we could, we’d start the day with a morning swim and end by watching breathtaking sunsets. The grassy area was perfect for our kids to run around, and the sun loungers and umbrellas made it easy to pass a day relaxing in the shade. One of the highlights was the food. The curry dinners were consistently delicious, and the staff went above and beyond when we hosted group meals. Their warmth made each gathering feel truly special. It’s a serene, less crowded alternative to other beach areas, ideal for those seeking relaxation. It’s also perfect for small groups—you could rent all the rooms and have the entire place to yourself. The palm-fringed beach walks in both directions added a touch of paradise to our stay. This place is a rare find—peaceful, beautiful, and full of heart. We can’t wait to return!”

“There are only 3 rooms in the hotel. The rooms are spacious and suitable for a large family or a group of friends. The territory is green, 1 minute walk to the sea, chipmunks, monitor lizards, geckos live. Hotel on Dalavella beach. The beach is sandy, the entrance to the sea with large stones, the open ocean. The ocean is always stormy, swimming is not very convenient. Unawatuna Bay with a wide sandy beach is 7 minutes away by tuktuk. The chef cooks superbly, takes into account all the wishes of the guests. On request, he can buy fresh lobsters, shrimp, tuna at the fish market and cook for dinner”

“We were here in August. Great hotel for your money! The location is suitable for those who want to get away from the noise, people and the city. The cleanliness of the territory is monitored, but sometimes garbage floats on the beach, but this is a big problem in Sri Lanka and the hotel is not to blame. The rooms are clean, a very comfortable bed, new air conditioning and their own cooler with drinking water, which is a big plus. There was always hot water. The room is humid, but this is due to the fact that the ocean is 100 meters away. Breakfast is good, they serve eggs, toast, fresh fruit. The staff is attentive and responsive. Always help in any matter. Special thanks to the hotel owner, who always gave in and helped us out. It was great! Thank you very much ❤️🌴”

“I just checked out, with tears in my eyes and an immense sense of nostalgia. I stayed in this wonderful place for 6 days, and it was enough to leave me with wonderful memories. The room is very large with a small kitchen, a bedroom with a huge bed, and a bathroom. It's very clean and welcoming, and it's just 15 meters from the sea—you practically walk out of the room and you're right on the sea. It's magnificent! The owners are extremely kind and helpful. We always had lunch in the beachfront restaurant. The food is excellent. If you ask for rice with fish, they'll ask you what type of fish you prefer and cook you an exceptional dish every time! Every request was accommodated. It truly felt like family, and we grew fond of them, as well as the dogs and squirrels who kept us company every day.
